FOOTPRINTS: 10 Things I Love About Bacolod

I have been to Bacolod several times and for several reasons. My first encounter with Bacolod was when I was sent for a seminar retreat, second for a summer of service, third for a wedding, fourth and fifth for a vacation to experience the Masskara Festival. Here are the ten reasons why I love Bacolod:

10. They live up to their claim as a City of Smiles

9. Local artistry

8. Laid back atmosphere but people are all hard working making it the best city to live in the country

7. Affordable hotel accommodations / food / etcetera (Preferred cheap hotel: Bacolod Check Inn)
6. Local industry still exists even if the big names (SM / Robinsons) came into the picture

5. Delicacies (Piaya, Barquillos, Napoleones, etc.)

4. More places to eat (Manokan, Pala-pala, Bob’s, Ted’s, Mama Marias, etc.)

3. Places to see (Public Plaza, Cathedral, Capitol, Museum, Panaad, Lakawon in Cadiz, Mambukal in Murcia, etc.)

2. Masskara Festival

1. Bacolod Chicken Inasal in Manokan Country (Preferred: Nena’s Beth)
